Rope Bottoming 101

This class covers the negotiation of rope scenes as well as understanding the risks of rope bondage and looking out for your own safety during play. In addition, we discuss how to be an effective communicator during a rope scene. We approach this topic from both the bottom's perspective (led by Dhyana) and the top's perspective (led by Kat).

Lecture and discussion.

Skipping Rope - Non-Rope Bondage

Mention bondage and people usually think of rope or cuffs of some kind but there is so much more to explore! Come learn some creative ways to use everyday (and not so everyday) materials in your kinky play. We'll bring an assortment of items (plastic wrap, non-traditional rope materials, wire, and more!) to get the conversation started, but we encourage participants to bring things they want us to cover. We will go over as many materials as time allows. Lots of tips, tricks, safety points, and practical advice!
All
Demo / discussion. Bring materials you are curious to use as restraints, well pick as many to go through as possible.

Non-advanced Advanced Bondage for Novice Rope Humans

Futomo-who? Takate go-where? Want to just tie someone up and do terrible and / or wonderful things to them? Come to this class to learn some fun sexy rope stuff that you can do that doesn’t require a master's degree in shibari.

Ouch! Sadistic Rope

This class is all about sadistic rope. We will show you not only how to tie bondage forms that allow your bottom to suffer beautifully in your rope </sarcasam>... Umm... Really we want them to squirm, yelp, cry... beg... We digress, we also show how to use rope itself as a tool to add to all this fun. Come expecting to have fun, hopefully giggle snort a bit, and learn wonderful ways to hurt each other.

Harness Your Skills

This class covers the basic 2 rope Takate Gote and if time permits a basic hip harness (there will at least be a demo of a hip harness). As we go through the ties we also discuss how we can use ties for not only restraint but also body manipulation and positioning ultimately helping prepare participants for full and partial suspension bondage.
Intermediate

Shibari Surf and Turf

This intermediate class covers some of the forms that aren't chest or hip harnesses. This includes the "surf" portion: ebi (shrimp) and kani (crab) shibari as well as the "turf": a hogtied based off of a basic agura (cross-legged) shibari tie. Time permitting, we cover the basic momo (peach) shibari as dessert! Participants should be competent with knots, frictions, and rope handling skills and should be able to complete basic ties such as single and double column ties and a basic chest harness.
Intermediate
Interactive tying. Participants will need 5 - 6 pieces of rope. Knowing how to tie a single column, reverse tension, frictions, and cinches is required.

Not limited to people with long hair! There will be something for everyone (as long as they have a head of course!)
Intermediate
Participants will need rope, a head, preferably some lengths of thinner 3 or 4mm rope

Wrap It Up: Practical and Fun Mummification Bondage

Mummification bondage can be a incredibly surreal experience involving restraint, sensory deprivation and a lot more. In this class we cover some techniques to help higher all of these areas as well as a few "fun" suggestions to take things up a notch.
Intermediate
Bring 1 large roll of plastic wrap and a roll of duct tape and a small towel

HALP! STAHP! (Bondage for Impact)

Anyone can tie a person bent over a bed and start flogging them but there is so much more!!! In this class we not only go over a few ties useful for impact but also some of the safety concerns and sadistic treasures of utilizing rope in your impact scenes. There is plenty of overlap here by the way! We will cover ground ties as well as partial suspensions. Come prepared to tie some basic forms without guidance such as double column ties, futomomos, and basic suspension lines.
Intermediate
Interactive tying. Participants will need 5 - 6 pieces of rope. Knowing how to tie a double column, reverse tension, frictions, cinches and basic suspension is required

My First Suspension! (suspension basics)

This class is meant to serve as an introduction to suspension bondage. We break this class up into two parts: Part 1 covers the fundamentals of suspension bondage (safety, hardpoints, weight distribution, etc.). Part 2 moves on to the demo and run through of a simple side suspension involving a TK, waist rope, and two single columns on the legs. This will demonstrate the principles we cover in part 1. Participants should know how to tie these basic shibari forms and instruction will be focused on putting them together into a functioning suspension.
Intermediate (Meant for people new to suspension)
Interactive tying. Participants will need 5 - 6 pieces of rope. Knowing how to tie a safe and suspension ready chest harness is required. Participants will need their own hardpoint equipment (ring, etc.)

Advanced

Vintage Rope Porn Bondage

Forget the "rules" you've have learned for shibari and hojojistu. This class covers a number of ties that we have deconstructed based on photos and drawings by some of the pioneering names in modern kinbaku like Reiko Kita, Seiu Ito, and more. We want to stress that this class will not be a history lesson or breakdown of any particular school of kinbaku. It's about an aesthetic we enjoy. We teach this class assuming participants adhere to the RACK or PRICK philosophy. While this is advanced class the ties are not necessarily difficult to tie, they can be strenuous for the bottom. We expect tops and bottoms to understand advanced bondage concepts such as why ties work, body mechanics, and body awareness.
Advanced (top and bottom)
Interactive tying. Participants will need 5 - 6 pieces of rope. Knowing how to tie a single column, reverse tension, frictions, and cinches along with knowledge of body mechanics is required. Two 3 to 4 foot lengths of 1 inch bamboo (or other similar strength poles) might be helpful.

Non-Rope

Composing a Scene: How to keep things interesting during play (and performance)

Ever enter into a scene and not have any idea what you are going to do but you sure in the hell are gonna do somethin!? Bottoms, even not know what to do and figure you will just let the top figure it all out? Sometimes these approaches work, some time not so much.

In this class we discuss the idea of composing scenes based on some simple principles we find in other formats including theater and music, and don’t think for a second that this class is simply for tops. Bottoms can use these tools to plan and execute scenes for tops as well!
